6th Grade Band

There will be no 6th grade band on May 1, 2, and 3 (Tuesday-Thursday). These students should report to the elementary by 7:45 am.

Author Michael Finklea visits MES

Author Michael Finklea, a native of Arkansas, came to visit McGehee Elementary on April 10th. He held three assemblies and talked to K-6 about creative writing and how he became an author. He closed the assemblies by letting students ask questions, and then he read one of his books to them.

MES Hosts Arkansas Author

The month of April is School Library Month. McGehee Elementary will be having Arkansas Author, Michael Finklea, come and visit our school on April 10th. He will have three assembilies where he will be talking to our students about creative writing. 
8:30-9:00 K, 1st, 2nd
9:15-9:45 3rd and 4th
10:00-10:30 5th and 6th
After the assembilies, he will be located in the library where students can buy a book for $8 and have it autographed by him.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration will be Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the elementary library. Registration will be held from 2-7pm with a break from 4-4:30. If available, please bring your child's birth certificate, social security card, shot record and physical. If not available, you may provide it at a later date.

Grades 1-6 were awarded for All A's, All A's and B's, Reading Growth, Math Growth, Student Conduct, Citizenship and BUG!

6th Grade GT Competes in Robotics

6th grade Gifted and Talented students competed in Monticello this month in Robotics. There were 25 teams competing and McGehee brought home 8th place. This was their first competition.
