ABOUT

eSports - COMING SOON TO A SCHOOL NEAR YOU

eSports is a interscholastic multiplayer video based game played competitively for spectators. The Arkansas Activities Association has partnered with PlayVS, a California-based Esports league that focuses solely on high schools. PlayVS has coordinated with the National Federation of State High School Associations to to write rules for high school play.

Currently PlayVs has three games available to students: League of Legends, Smite, and Rocket League. These games will have teams of three to five students. Each school can have multiple teams for each game. eSports will be structured into a fall and springs seasons

High schools in more than 12 states are affiliated with PlayVS

To play students must meet certain academic standards in order to participate as is the case for students wanting to play traditional sports such as football, baseball or basketball.

Currently more than 80 schools in Arkansas have signed up for eSports.

College across the US and Arkansas are starting to offer scholarships for competitive gaming.
