McGehee School District is providing FREE meals for any children (Ages 18 and under) this summer! Meals can be picked up at either the High School or Elementary campus cafeterias from 10:00AM - 12:30PM daily during the summer program windows - June & July; First 2 weeks of June Monday - Friday, and Monday - Thursday for the remainder of the summer feeding program...
Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer, or Summer EBT, helps close the summer hunger gap when kids are on summer break and not getting nutritious school meals. Summer EBT provides grocery-buying benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. More than 30 million children across America could benefit from Summer EBT.
Summer EBT benefits will come in the form of pre-loaded cards that families can use to purchase groceries.
This summer, families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 per eligible child. These benefits work together with other available FNS nutrition assistance programs, such as summer meal sites, SNAP, and WIC, to help ensure kids have consistent access to critical nutrition when school is out.
Your child may automatically qualify for Summer EBT without the need to apply. Visit the AR.GOV website at ar.gov/summerebt to find an interactive eligibility flowchart. Answer each question to help determine your status.
The deadline for applications to be turned in is late August.
To ask general questions about Summer EBT, please call the Summer EBT Call Center at 1-800-482-8988.
To get a replacement Summer EBT card, call 1-800-997-9999, Press “1”, then follow the instructions.
*IMPORTANT UPDATE:
The Arkansas Department of Human Services will require all Summer EBT recipients to reset the PIN numbers associated with their cards in response to reports of thefts of these benefits from out-of-state scammers.
Eligible families should reset their PINs through the EBT call line at 1-800-997-9999 or through the online portal linked at ar.gov/summerebt effective immediately. The cards will not work until this additional step has been completed in order to prevent additional fraudulent activity.
